For all you there, you know that it was crowded. That may not be as fortunate if you are trying to drop something off, but for us it just meant that our drive was a success.<br />But the year is coming to a close, and while we have not yet saved the world, we are on the right track. We appreciate you staying with us, dear reader, and we hope that you will continue your support into the future. After a short hiatus this summer, we will be back with even more pollution ass kicking and riding our school of computer-less students. I personally, your host, Wyatt, I will not be back. I have college and the great world beyond looming over me and I will be forced to abandon you against my will. Many of the computers that are collected will be refurbished and given back to students at McCallum who cannot afford their own. Our next step is finding an internet provider who would be willing to give free internet access to those we give computers. We are trying to contact many providers, but if anybody knows of anyone in an important position at an internet provider, it would be unbelievably helpful to our cause if you let us go. We have not written in a while, but more is to come soon, now that we are back on track. National Geographic just posted a <a href="http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/2008-01/high-tech-trash/carroll-text.html">great article</a> about computer recycling. It outlines the reasons we have been doing what we have been doing, and why you should join the cause. You may not believe us because we are just students, but now we have National Geographic on our side. Recycling and refurbishing computers is crucial at this point to help good old Mother Earth, and we can not do it alone. One of the things we had to do was strip computers to individual parts. If you are a reader with anger problems, or just any will for breaking things, I advise putting in time at goodwill computer works. You are a giving an electric screwdriver and you just go to town. When not letting loose our stress, we were learning how to run diagnostics on computer parts and just learned about the general composition of a computer as well as how the recycling process works. We are unsure of our ability to start our own operation, but it is being considered, along with the chances of getting something more long term going with goodwill. We have a lot of question marks, but what we do know is that we need computers, and we need help. All things are looking good for those computer-less homes in our area with a payoff sure to come soon for the work we have put it. I personally just saved the endangered species, the spectacled bear, while the rest of the boys have single handedly stopped global warming.
